Hearing Impaired Professional Preparation

Meeting the needs of children with hearing loss and their families:
Training specialists in speech-language pathology

A joint project between Kent State University and The University of Akron

In addition to the required coursework for a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, H.I.P.P. trainees receive specialized coursework related to hearing loss, hearing aids, cochlear implants, and auditory-based approaches. Some of the additional coursework or lectures include the following topics:
