Professional experiences:

Heather Rose earned her professional degrees at the University of Akron where she met and trained under Dr. Carol Flexer.  Heather had a life-long dream to teach children with hearing loss to speak, and pursued this specialty under the guidance of Carol Flexer. 

Heather has worked exclusively with children who have hearing loss since 1991, providing therapy and guidance to children and families using auditory options. Heather worked at the Clarke School for the Deaf, the first oral school in the United States.  She then worked for the Lippy Group as a member of their cochlear implant team, providing auditory therapy, home visits and educational support.   Heather guest lectures regularly at the University of Akron, and has provided externships to graduate students. She has presented at OSHA, ASHA and AG.BELL.  She is a past president of the Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf , Ohio Chapter. Heather began a private practice in 1993, working exclusively with families who have children with hearing loss, which she currently maintains.  It continues to be her dream to help children learn to listen and speak for themselves.
